About Us
Salt Lake County Weigh Active and Healthy is an obesity prevention program that promotes healthy lifestyles for all of county residents. It is a free program and is available to all residents of Salt Lake County! Weigh Active and Healthy offers fun, family-friendly and exciting, nutrition and physical activity programs throughout the year. No matter what physical activity level you are at, we welcome you to participate! The goal is simply to raise awareness about the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.
We encourage everyone to participate in the program with friends or family members. Recent statistics show that people who exercise with others are much more likely to make fitness an integral part of their lives, and are more successful in achieving their health goals.
Currently, 57.3% of all Salt Lake County residents are either overweight or obese. Also, approximately only 33% of the counties residents are eating 2 or more servings of fruits each day and about 22% are eating 3 or more servings of vegetables each day. So join Weigh Active and Healthy and let’s make Salt Lake County the healthiest county in Utah!
