Quitting Tobacco Use

The First Step Program is designed to help pregnant women stop using tobacco. Self-help and individual classes are offered at low or no cost to participants. For more information please call 801 468-2569.

imageResearch shows the Ending Nicotine Dependence (E.N.D.) program is effective not only with youth who want to quit, but also with those who don’t want to or might not be ready to quit (UDOH 1997).
If nothing else, youth are learning skills they can draw upon when they are ready to quit.

Remember the average tobacco user can make two to five attempts to quit using tobacco before he or she is completely successful (USDHHS 1990). The E.N.D programs can serve as the first or final step in quitting tobacco. More.....
