Why Should You Encourage One Small Change?
Information for Community Leaders
If each citizen working and living within Salt Lake County makes one small change for their health, the entire community benefits because everyone is able to give back more.
We should all be concerned about the declining health of our community – both individuals and our environment – because it affects the community as a whole. We are experiencing more ill health because of the things we are not doing.
Health Diversity
Salt Lake County is quickly becoming a diverse society. Within the county we have some of the fittest cities in the country and others that struggle with obesity and chronic disease.
If communities can find some commonality in the small changes we make, we can create a more unified population. Improved health allows for greater prosperity among all populations, especially those who are disparately impacted.
Salt Lake County is committed to fostering and encouraging a healthy and fit population within our borders, but this takes the commitment and endorsement of our community leaders.
We should all strive to create a healthier community with healthier individuals and a healthier environment, and the One Small Change campaign is an excellent place to start.
