The Salt Lake Valley Health Department Swimming Pool Program’s purpose is to ensure that all public swimming pools are safe for public use. This is accomplished by:
- Overseeing new pool design and construction,
- Reviewing plans and technical evaluations,
- Ongoing water sampling and analyses,
- Routine inspections,
- Complaint responses,
- Issuing permits,
- Enforcement actions,
- Operator education,
- Disease investigation.
