Emergency Response

The Emergency Response program is an on-call program that responds to any discharge into the air, land or water in the Salt Lake valley. Whether the discharge was intentional or accidental the Salt Lake Valley Health Department will respond to access and analyze the situation. The Emergency Response program responds to

  • Public health emergencies
  • Discharges into the storm drain
  • Sewage releases into private or public properties
  • Meth labs
  • Foam in creeks
  • Fish kill
  • Cement/Concrete discharges
  • Various other situations

Emergency response is a unique program in that the responders handle a variety of difficult, unique and time-consuming situations. The personnel are trained to respond correctly and professionally to different and distinctive circumstances. Annual reports (6.7 MB) enable the public to understand the diverse situations the personnel encounter and handle.
