What We Do

As assigned by the Utah Division of Drinking Water, SLVHD surveys water systems, including site visits to the physical facilities and the collection of administrative data to ensure the systems maintain safe drinking water according to the Safe Drinking Water Act.

If you have a reason to believe your water may be causing an illness please call us at (385) 468-3862.

Questions for each system are taken from a data base of questions the federal government has given to ensure our water is safe to drink.

Sanitary Survey (144 KB)

Public drinking water systems are required to test their water on a regular basis. This testing includes all of the contaminant testing required by the EPA. Community water systems send out a Consumer Confidence Report listing the amounts of contaminants in their systems. If their system is large enough these reports can be found on their web site.

The SLVHD takes samples in addition to the water system samples and has them tested for total and fecal Coliform and sometimes heterotrophic plate count. The results indicate water quality. Any questionable results are retested to ensure the quality of water is of drinking water quality
