Tuberculosis Skin Test Certification
Placing and reading the Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) requires knowledge, skill and practice. Inaccurate placing or reading can mean a missed opportunity for identifying someone with active TB or mistakenly identifying someone as being infected who is not infected.
Salt Lake Valley Health Department offers free certification classes to health care professionals in the county. We teach the Mantoux technique. The average class is 1-2 hours depending on the number of students. Classes are held at the Salt Lake City Clinic at 610 South 200 East. We may come to your facility if a minimum of 8 students are committed to attending. We recommend viewing the video prior to the class.
