Oral health during pregnancy is an important part of maintaining a health pregnancy.

It is recommended that you visit a dentist at least once during your pregnancy for normal preventative work, preferably during the second trimester (22-27 weeks).

  • Visiting your dentist can help prevent infections and gum disease.

Make sure to let the dentist know you are Teddy bear hugging a pregnant woman's bellypregnant because the increase in hormone levels during pregnancy can increase gum swelling.

  • Some research has suggested that serious gum disease has been linked to preterm birth and low birth weight. Don't take any risks - talk to your dentist.
