About Healthy Taylorsville:
The Healthy Taylorsville Committee seeks to improve the health of Taylorsville residents by providing fun opportunities to be active as well as implementing policy change to improve the environment.
- Urban Iditarod: A shopping cart race in which teams of five people (one "musher" and four "dogs") tie themselves to a grocery store shopping cart and run or walk through the streets of a metropolitan area to different locations where they compete in "challenges". The race usually features people in costumes and themed floats/carts. The races are fun competitions where friendly sabotage, costume, and presentation are rewarded.
- Health Fair
- Policy: The Healthy Taylorsville Committee helps to develop and implement policies in their community that provide permanent changes that improves the health of their community. This community has won several Healthy Community Awards for their achievements in implementing health policies within their community.
