About Healthy Sandy:
The Healthy Sandy Partnership works on three major areas to improve the health of those who live and work in Sandy City.
Prevention and Protection

Family Mealtime Campaign: Currently being piloted with one faith-based group

Flu Shots: Offered on specific dates during flu season at the Sandy Fire Stations

Bike Helmets: Offered at a low-cost during events throughout the year.
Health Promotion

SlimDown-ShapeUp Sandy:10 week program that encourages everyone who lives or works in Sandy to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight any unneeded weight and maintain an overall healthier lifestyle. The program includes health tips, lectures, organized walks, weekly challenges for kids and adults, and prizes and incentives for goal achievement.

Fresh Air Day: Provides a mountain hike and picnic for Boys & Girls at the Sandy Club

Independence Day 5K and 10K at Sandy City Hall
Healthy Schools

Gold Medal Schools: In conjunction with Salt Lake Valley Health Department, Utah Department of Health, and the Canyons School District the Gold Medal Schools program encourages all elementary schools to participate and qualify for the Gold Medal School recognition.

Vision and Dental: Periodic screening programs especially in low-income areas.
