What do Healthy Community Coalitions do?
The Healthy Community coalitions in Salt Lake County work to identify local issues that affect health and quality of life and then implement proven programs to better the community and the lives of people who live and work there.
How can I get involved?
Becoming involved with a Healthy Community Coalition is easy.
First, check the Healthy Community locations and see if your community is listed there. If it is, look up the time and place of the meeting and contact the chairperson to let them know you wish to be involved.
If your community is not listed and you are interested in becoming involved in Healthy Communities, please contact the SLVHD at (801) 468-2353 or send an email and a Health Educator will assist you.
Do I need to be a Health Professional to be part of a Healthy Community?
No! Coalition members come from all walks of life, from all age groups, from all education and economic backgrounds, and from all sectors of the community.
The strength of Healthy Communities is its members diversity - all are welcome and needed. You only need to have the desire to help improve the health and quality of life of those in your community.
