A Child Care and Preschool Food Handler Card is required for every person before entering or engaging in the manufacturing, preparation, or handling of food or drink, or being employed in or around food in a child care facility or preschool.

The general food handler card required for persons in other food establishments (restaurants) is not sufficient to meet the requirements for persons in child care facilities and preschools. However, the Child Care Food Handler Card is acceptable for general food service (restaurant) workers.

This class provides basic principles of food handling and food safety for those who work in child group settings. Individuals requiring assistance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact the individual schools five (5) working days prior to attending the class to request reasonable accommodations.
