•  These flu vaccination clinics will be held at the Salt Lake County Government Center at 2001 South State Street on the main floor of the South Building . Those wishing to receive a flu vaccine should use the north east entrance.

•  High-risk individuals include: children 6-23 months of age, everyone 65 years of age or older, residents of long-term care facilities, people with chronic health problems (such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, asthma, lung disease, or anemia), people with weakened immune systems, women who will be pregnant during the flu season, health care workers, and household contacts and out-of-home caretakers of infants six months and younger.

Shipp Clinic and the cost is $29.00) while supplies last.

•  There will be no County employee vaccination dates offered this year. County employees are encouraged to participate in one of the three prescheduled flu vaccination clinics at the Government Center .

•  These flu vaccination clinics will also serve as exercises for the SLVHD emergency preparedness and mass vaccination plans, and serve to enhance community awareness of the public health role in any public health crisis.

•  During the three prescheduled flu vaccine clinics, SLVHD will also offer the new Tdap vaccine (Boostrix, Adacel) to help stop the progression of pertussis (whooping cough) in our community.

•  For the first time, SLVHD will utilize a new technology known as BioJector (a needle free system) to administer vaccines at the prescheduled flu vaccine clinics.

•  Health officials also recommend that those clients who are in a high risk category should receive the pneumonia vaccination. The cost of the pneumonia shot is $31.00. People who have received the pneumonia shot after the age of 65 do not need additional doses.
