Barbara Thomas
West Valley City Councilwoman

Barbara served as a City Councilwoman in West Valley for 12 years. She presently works for Wastach Front Regional Council as an Intergovernmental Coordinator for SL County. She also is responsible for the local transortation corridor presevation fund for SL County.

She has received her Political Science degree from the University of Utah, with time spent at Dixie College and BYU as well.

Thomas served on West Valley City’s Planning Commission for eight years and presently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Pioneer Valley Hospital. She has been involved with her community as a PTA officer, as a member of the Night Out Against Crime Committee and is a member of her neighborhood mobile patrol.

Barbara and her husband, Steve Rushton, have three children: Ethan, Caleb and Tessa.
