JoAnn B. Seghini, Ph.D.

After 40 years of working in the education field, from kindergarten teacher to college professor, JoAnn was elected Mayor of Midvale City in 1998 and joined the Salt Lake Valley Board of Health in 2002. She has been an active member of a vast number of community and professional committees, and she is currently President of the Salt Lake County Council of Governments and Chair of the Utah HealthCare Institute. Mayor Seghini has received numerous awards and recognitions that most recently include Utah Issue’s Local Elected Official of the Year Award and Utah Woman of the Year for 2000.
