Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m.
The Ellis R. Shipp Clinic provides space for the Birth Care Health Care (BCHC) Nurse-Midwifes to support women with diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. We offer free pregnancy tests and sliding scale fee for patients who are uninsured.
All staff members are fluent in Spanish.
BCHC practices the art and philosophy of Midwifery, providing supportive care with respect for human dignity and cultural diversity. We encourage and honor a woman’s desire to participate fully in her birth experience.
- Pregnancy
- Labor support (with or without an epidural)
- Post partum care
- Emphasis is placed on education for a healthy pregnancy
- Well woman care
- Pre-conception counseling
- Annual exams
- Pre-marital exams
- Pap smears
- Breast exams
- Management of acute health care problems, such as urinary tract, yeast infections, and seasonal allergies
- Birth control
- STI (sexual transmitted infection) screenings and treatment
- Appropriate age related health screening
